Registration Information

The following information is intended to assist you in registering for the PalmCon conference scheduled for October 19-21, 2016 in El Paso, Texas. Please read the important details below. Once you are familiar with the information we need, there is a link for you to go to the registration form on our website. We look forward to seeing you at the Conference; please let us know if there is anything we can do to serve you.

Registration Status: Each conference attendee must submit a registration form. You will be asked to indicate if you are Clergy, an Educator, a Student, a Lay Worker, or some other category. You will also be asked for the name of your church or organization.

Registration Information: The registration form will ask for some personal information, name, address, phone number and email address. You will also be asked if your spouse will be attending the conference with you. You will also be able to identify any disabilities or food allergies that we need to accommodate.

Registration Fees: The registration fee is based upon your status and whether you are attending as a single individual or as a married couple. The fee includes all conference programming, all materials, food service as indicated on the schedule and receptions. The fees are as follows:

  • Before September 1, 2016
    • Student: $125.00
    • Single Individual: $200.00
    • Married Couple: $300.00
  • After September 1, 2016
    • Student: $150.00
    • Single Individual: $225.00
    • Married Couple: $350.00

Once your registration form is submitted online, the appropriate fee must be paid in full to secure your confirmation. Payments by check, made payable to the Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute, can be sent to 10622 Montwood Drive, Suite A, El Paso, TX 79935-2760. Fee Payment

Cancellation Fees: All payments will be fully refunded for cancellations before August 1, 2016. From August 1, 2016 to September 1, 2016, the cancellation fee will be $100. After September 1, 2016 the cancellation fee will be $150.00

Hotel Accommodations: A block of rooms at a special rate has been reserved at the Hawthorne Suites, 6789 Boeing Drive, El Paso, TX 79925. The hotel is right next to the El Paso airport and has a shuttle, so, unless you intend to tour the El Paso area, you will not need a rental car. You are responsible for your own housing reservations. The cost is $86.00 per night, which includes taxes and breakfast, for either a King bed or 2 Queen beds. To reserve your room, please call 915.778.6789 and specify the PalmCon conference to obtain the special rate. Make your reservations early as our room block may be used up well before the event.

Scholarships: Generous supporters of LHMI have established a PalmCon scholarship fund to help offset attendance costs (fees, travel, and/or housing). Eligible applicants include Hispanic Ministry workers and students. To request an application form with additional eligibility criteria and information, email rschlak@missionaryinstitute.org. Scholarship applicants will be asked to register for the conference after the status of their award is determined as the award may cover the registration fees which will be paid, on your behalf, directly to LHMI.
